As a component part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act ("IIJA"), $42.5 billion has been awarded to the United States Department of Commerce to assist states and local governments across the nation to develop a comprehensive planning process to establish a vision for digital connectivity that will guide overarching strategies and goals. Meridian's business advisory solutions are tailored to support state and local governments in achieving their broadband expansion goals including subgrantee monitoring and compliance.
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration ("NTIA") will conduct ongoing monitoring of an eligible entity’s progress against its plans and ensure that the requirements of the IIJA are met. Eligible Entities will be required to comply with reporting requirements and monitor subgrantee compliance.
